ARTIST NOTE­

'Nature-Circulation-Story' 

The world of my paintings is a brilliant dedication to the wonderful cycle of nature. In my frame, the constituent particles of the whole creation brilliantly exclaim their existence with their individual scintillating color sense. In the background of the loud reds or deep blue tones, flowers, butterflies and conches of the sea are vividly depicted with their own timbre. Moreover, the existence of these natural objects signifies the concept of order, that is, cycle. This is different from the general pictorial attitude of depiction, and it’s the essence of my pictures. It may be the manifestation of my artistic opinion intending to interpret nature through the principle of circulation akin to the oriental philosophy.

 'Nature-Boundary' 

There are visible and invisible boundaries in nature. It means that the visible boundaries including regions, location and invisible boundaries are visually indistinguishable things such as time, space and consciousness. In addition, there are boundaries in our nature and within the boundaries, the nature repeatedly changes and circulate. Also we live and think in the boundaries crossing the border. Nature-Boundary series intends to portray the boundaries of the visible things such as flowers, birds, fishes, insects and the invisible things such as time, space and consciousness through a hexahedron.

 'Sympathy-collection' 

People have a habit of seeing, touching, and collecting something which they have interest. We are used to have interest and affection for attaching objects and collect them. In addition, we may want to interact with people who are attractive. These are a form of collecting and it means collection. I recently have worked on the theme of Sympathy-Collection based on still life. Still life is a style that has been done by many artists for a long time. That is still life would be a familiar and easily accessible style in painting. However I tried to get out of general still life and depict a lively space where we can feel vitality with nature things such as butterflies and insects rather than a quiet space.
