Choi Yoon-Jung's canvases create a dual layer. Firstly, two different materials, paper and silk, are layered to form two distinct screens. Each screen meticulously depicts flower petals through coloring. The surrounding context or specific situational details are excluded, and the portrayal focuses solely on a part of the flower, as if it were blooming in isolation. It's not a single, flat plane but rather a composition where two screens of different nature rise with varying depths. This simultaneously reveals and obscures, sharpens and blurs. The element of time plays a decisive role in how one views and perceives these two screens.
